On our way home last weekend, Al and I hit intense patches of fog. When we drove through a clear patch, I took a photograph of the distant hills shrouded in heavy clouds. This piece is based on my memory and that photograph.

It needs more work. I think I might try my hand at this landscape again now that I’ve had a chance to experiment with it a little bit, and I don’t think I’ll use any guache the second time around. If I’d had more time this evening, I might have painted a second version — but I used up quite a lot of my evening practicing Chopin, and I still need to take a shower and write something.

Although I will continue to sketch every day, I will not post every day like I did on The Daily Sketch. I will post approximately once per week — sometimes more, sometimes (maybe) less. So stay tuned! I will post my first real update soon.
